    2018 RULESET

    TOURNAMENT MODE
EGL 2018 is a 8 Teams Tournament; Phase 1 is a Round Robin (3pts Win, 1pt Tie, 0 Pts Loss); top 4 Teams at the end of this Round Robin (tiebreaks: direct matches, w/l difference) are promoted to Phase 2, which is in Direct Elimination mode. Bracket is made by matching the top Team and the bottom one, then the others. There will be a third place match.
Each match between Teams consists in 8 Matches between the 8 different players composing the Team (each one is going to play 1 and only 1 game for each Round). Each game is played in different MetaGames.

    CALENDAR
Phase 1 (Round Robin) lasts 7 weeks; between 4th and 5th Round there will be the "All Stars Week", so it means that the whole Phase 1 is going to last 8 weeks.
Each Round lasts 7 days (in Phase 1, Phase 2 and the All Stars Week); Grand Final and 3rd Place Final will be played at the same time, and they lasts 7 days, as the other Rounds.
Each EGL edition lasts approximately 10 weeks, and you have to eventually count delays and technical time to have the auction.
Despite you can guess who's going to be your next opponent, you cannot play in advance any kind of game; each Round has different rosters that are official only after the actual beginning of the new Round. If you play in advance, you will be ignored.

    ALL STARS WEEK
At the end of the 4th Round (Phase 1), there is the "All Stars Week": players with the highest Value are going to form 2 new Teams that are almost completely unrelated to the EGL running: the only relationship between the All Stars Week and the EGL, is the changing of each Player Value, depending on the results of the games played; you can raise your Value by playing the All Stars Week.

    THE MATCHES BETWEEN TEAMS
Each General Manager must post the next week Roster before the deadline, that's the 11:59 PM (Central Europe Time) of the seventh day of the Round. He/She must post it in the Rosters' Forum. If General Manager forgot to post the new Roster, the last one used is considered the new one.

The 8 Games in each Match between Teams are going to be played in these MetaGames:
    1) USUM OU
    2) USUM OU
    3) USUM OU
    4) ORAS OU
    5) BW2 OU
    6) DPP OU
    7) RSE OU
    8) RBY OU

In case any match is not played, at the end of the Week the Tour Managers will choose the results, considering the activity showed during the week; after this possible points assignments, the team that won more matches than its opponent gets 3 points, passes the turn or wins the Tournament.
During the Group Stage, considering that there will be 8 matches, there's the possibility of a Draw: in this case both teams will get 1 point.
In the Final Stage, in case of a draw there will be a Play-Off. This Play-Off will be played in 3 Metagames: The first is USUM OU. The other 2 Metagames are chosen by the 2 teams (one for each team): in the Rosters' Thread the managers will post 2 Metagames preferences in priority order (between USUM OU, ORAS OU, BW2 OU, DPP OU, RSE OU, RBY OU); in case the 2 teams indicate the same Metagame as first choice, obviously that one will be played. As second MetaGame, the one which will be chosen will be the one decided by the Team that posted its preferences first.

You can replace any number of Players during each Round, but the incoming Player must be one of the Players written in the bench, in the Roster posted by the General Manager.

To notify any change of Players and validate it, you must use the "tag" feature (alt+t or the 'tag botton' under each post in the forums) and tag both incoming and outgoing Player. By using this feature, you can see some graphic effects, as this example: Abry. Tour Directors have the right to deny the result of the game (or even change it) if the substitution is considered a fraud. If a game is not yet started, Tour Directors cannot invert the result; Tour Directors have 12 hours to decide wether the substitution is valid; after that time, it's valid.

    TEAM COMPOSITION
Each Team is composed by 1 General Member (GM) and minimum 10 active Players.
Tour Directors chose General Managers, so no GM is also a Tour Director; the GM choice was purely subjective.
GM's task is to create the Team (by choosing and buying Players), to choose the name of the Team and the graphics involved.
Players are bought by auction, more info in the next paragraphs.
GM is the Team chief. He/She has always the last word in every argument (but their decisions can't overrule Tour Directors' ones).
GM decides the Roster and deals the Team credits. GM must deal the Team unity and its consistency.
If a Team can't complete all their games until the deadline, GM must inform Tour Directors on the causes of that suspected lazyness; this way, Tour Directors can validate the activity posts and similar.
As you can understand, GM has great responsability, and he/she is the most important figure of the Team. You must take GM's role seriously.
GM can ask Tour Directors to create a private sub-forum in this Forum, with access granted to Team Members only (and Tour Directors of course).

    JOINING THE COMPETITION
By joining this Tournament, your nickname is inserted in a Players List that will be used during the Auction by the General Managers; so we repeat: Signing up DOES NOT assure you to be bought by a General Manager and/or that you will be part of the Roster (there's a chance that you will never play!).
Every starting quotation is 10 credits, to which the credits earned (or lost) in the last played edition are added (or removed). (If you never partecipated, it's 10 credits)

All the players must Sign up if they want to partecipate to this edition o Ever Grande League, including the ones that played in the last edition.
It's important to specify that the Ever Grande League is an event that will last several weeks and so the activity of every player is significant. Do not sign up if you're not willing to play the Tournament until the end. This includes keeping a competitive and sporting attitude, even if it's evident that your team will not move on to the finals.
The repeated failure to complete the matches may lead you not to partecipate to the next editions of the Ever Grande League

To join EGL 2018, post this form in the signups topic:
    HTML
<b>EGL 2017 Nickname (or your current one, if this is your first EGL; in case you want to change it, pls specify both):</b> *nickname*
<b>EGL 2017 Value (that is 10 if this is your first EGL):</b> *value*
    <b>Membership Clan (be honest):</b> *team*
<b>Metagames I consider myself able to play:</b> *metagames*
    <b>I have read and I approve the 2018 Ruleset:</b> *yes/no*

GM can evaluate your skills and think about "buying" you after looking at the list of MetaGames you consider yourself able to play: be honest on this!
We must say that by joining this Tournament is not sure that you are going to play; in fact, no GMs may 'buy' you, or you can be bought but you can be placed in bench at every Round.
If you replay "no" to the terms of agreement, you're out

CHECK OUT LIST OF THE VALUES!

    GAMES BETWEEN PLAYERS
Each game between Players of different Teams is a best of 1 game except for RBY OU (Gen 1) that is default bo3; each player must update softwares to the last working version.

While playing a match, "/modjoin" and "/ionext" cannot be used; if so, the Player that used it, is automatically considered as defeated.
While playing a match, "/hiddenroom" cannot be used; if so, the Player that used it, is automatically considered as defeated; if one of the two involved Player has already won (victory message is already displayed, i.e. "Abry has won the battle!"), you can use "/hiddenroom" to prevent international scouting; you have to submit the replay anyway in the Results Topic.
If you're playing on Pokémon Online, if Disallow Spects Clause is active, the match is not valid; it has to be played again and there are no excuses for that: both players are agreeing in that clause on PO (because it's a rule you have to set before the other player accepts the challenge).

    (January 20th 2018 - Rule removed)

During the first 36 hours from the beginning of the Round, Players must open a new topic in the "Visitor Messages" forum; the topic title must be "Nickname vs Nickname" (change with the right nicknames, of course), unless your opponent has already open that kind of topic, with your Nickname in the title; that topic allows both to choose the best moment to play ("Friday afternoon" isn't as precise as "Friday 4PM"; always consider Central Europe Time).
In the 10 minutes before the agreed time, Players must/can notify their presence/activity in the topic, by declaring their Nickname and Server/Room/etc they are online. Tour Directors will read this topic in case of an undone game, in order to choose the Activity Win. Be the one who starts the topic is a good proof of activity, it counts. We suggest you to use the tag feature.

Each MetaGame has its own rules (which are Smogon's ones): USUM OU (Gen 7), ORAS OU (Gen 6), BW2 OU (Gen 5), DPP OU (Gen 4), ADV OU (Gen 3), RBY OU (Gen 1)..
If you break any of these rules (illegal moveset or else), you lose the game.
If the Ruleset of a certain MetaGame is modified (i.e. the changes after Suspect periods), the changes are applied starting from the next Round, regardless if this new Round starts the day after.

If a Player disconnects from the game, no one else is authorized to join the battle.
To be able to reconnect to the game, you must register your nickname; blame yourself if you don't do it and you lose the game because you couldn't reconnect.
If you regularly registered your nickname but you couldn't reconnect due to other reasons, and your Opponent won by timeout, he/she is the only one who can decide to let you play again (and he/she is the only one who can choose other related rules as same teams, same moves and so on) or to keep the victory and who cares.

When you post the result of your game, you must post the replay link or the link to pastebin.com (or similar) with the log (for those softwares that don't allow saving replays).
If you don't post the replay/log, your result is not valid (so, if you're the winner, remember to save it!). All replays and logs are going to be linked in a single topic, to have them alltogether.

    EVER GRANDE LEAGUE PRE-SEASON AUCTION
Pre-Season Auction will run on PS! channel or groupchat; date and time will be chosen according to GM's and Tour Directors availiability.
GMs and Tour Directors are the only people allowed to use the chat, no exceptions; if an auth missbehave during the Auction, he/she will be demoted.
GMs are the only ones that can bid, and they can only bid for their Team (obviously); each Team has 300 credits to manage; each number written by actual numbers (i.e.: "50") is considered as offer, if you have that number of credits left (in case of typing errors, if the number is still biddable, we count it as the offer); if the GM writes the number using the letters (i.e.: "fifty"), it's not considered as an offer of any kind; numbers that are unbiddable (as numbers above the maximum credits at disposal) are not considered.

Before the first bid, GM can do an operation in advance, and he/she must declare them:
-if the GM wants to be an actual Player (not only GM but also a Player, in the Roster), you can buy the right to do so: it costs twice the Quotation credits before the first bid, or 3.5 times the Quotation credits if you said no before the beginning but you change your mind). If the GM does not buy the right to play (before or during the Auction), it's a definitive choice: this right can't be bought in any other way or time after the Pre-Season Auction.

Bids comes form GMs in a certain order (1->8 - 8->1): this means that GMs choose and start to bid for a player in the 1->8 order, then the 8th GM makes one other bid and the order is the opposite (8->1); and the method repeats endless.

The order of the GMs will be randomized, and it counts in scheduling the Matches between the Teams in the Calendar.

All Players start with a Value of 10 if there is no other Value available (from a past EGL). One of the Tour Directors will also be the auctioneer; bids can be raised by units; each Team must be composed of minimum 10 Players; the auctioneer will update the Google Sheets document each time a bid is over and the Player is bought; in this document, the maximum bid allowed is shown on the top of the page.

In each Team, there can be at most 4 Players (Active Players, this means that GM is included only if he/she bought the right to play) that are Members of the same Pokémon Clan/League (etc). In the form you must post in order to join we ask you to specify which Clan/League are you part of, be honest on this. Tour Directors have the right to ignore last-minute Clan/League Membership changes if they seem suspicious (moreover, it's an auction: you won't ever be sure to play in the same Team as your friend you planned to play with).

A Team can be composed of more than 10 Players, no one cares about it; it can't be composed of less than 10 instead.

If a Player forgot to join or no GMs bought him/her, he/she has one more chance to play in the Mid-Season Auction.

    MID-SEASON AUCTION
This Auction has different rules from Pre-Season Aucion: it's going to run on the Forum.
    The Players involved are:
-Players that joined but no GMs bought them
    -Players joining in this occasion
-Players sold by their Team (at the end of 4th Round, Players declared "sold" from the GM during the 4th Round are considered Teamless)

This Auction runs meanwhile the All Stars Week is in progress, but lasts until 09:59 PM (Central Europe Time) of the 6th day of the All Stars Week.

Auctions still open at 10 PM (Central Europe Time) of the 6th day, are locked, and GM will proceed with blind offers. At 11:59 PM of that day, the Team that invests the most on a Player, will add that player to the roster. GM can't invest more than the credits they have at the beginning of the "blind offer session".

Teams that sold Players must buy the minimum number of Players to arrive to the minimum number required to play (10); if this won't be possible, the GM can't buy Player in other ways (Team will play with less Players and may lose by default some games if it has not the right number of Players to face the opponents).

This Forum Auction will work in this way: GMs and Tour Directors are the only people allowed to reply to the topic; in each post, GM must declare:
-available credits (adding back credits bidden in other auctions for Players that were bought from a different Team)
-valid offers in unfinished auctions (specify the number of credits involved)
-new offers (specify the number of credits involved)
-available credits after all the bids

If a GM is not the last one to bid, he/she can retreat from the auction for that Player; this is the case in which the GM must add back credits used for that auction.
After 24 hours since the last bid, the Player involved is officially bought (all other Teams gain their bidden credits for that Player back).
The timestamp of the post is the one that matters for the priority in bidding and buying.
A GM can't be sold, never.

    VALUES, EXCHANGES AND SUBSTITUTION
At any time after the starting Auction ad until the end of the All-Star-Week it is possible to sell one of your players, getting the Current Quotation. From that moment on, it is OBLIGATORY to buy a new player before the start of the new Week, in case the team has less than 10 players. In case the Purchase goes wrong and gets interrupted, the Sell will be considered null, the credits will go back to the General Manager who will have the possibility to proceed with another purchase.
It will be possible trading a player for another player, or one player for two players, considering the obligation to have at least 10 players in the team. It will not be possible using the remaining credits during these operations.
The day after the one on which the auction was held, at 15 O'clock (GMT+1) we will open a Thread that will be used for Selling and Purchasing players. To do this, it will be necessary posting in that thread CLEARLY, tagging (using the method explained before) the people concerned, or rather the sold player and/or the bought one. The purchase in this phase does not have the same pattern of the auction, in the moment you post you have the certainties that your trade has been successful, unless another General Manager posted his intentions to buy the same player before you.
All these operations are allowed not later than the All-Star-Week (So Week 1, Week 2, Week 3 and All-Star-Week). With the beginning of the 5th Week the rosters will be locked until the end of the Tournament.

    Remember:
    - A player is tradable only if he still hasn't played in the week when you want to trade him.
    - A purchased player can play only in the week after the one in which he was bought.
    - You can't trade or sell a General Manager

Each Player Value (it matters at the beginning of any Auction) raises or lowers after each played game, and it's official only at the end of the Round:
+2 if the Player wins, and his/her Team wins
+1 if the Player wins but his/her Team loses
-1 if the Player loses (in this case, Team result doesn't matter)

    UNFAIR ACTIONS
Ghosting is not allowed; Teamworking is not allowed; we don't know how you call this shit in your language, the only thing important to say is that if we catch you doing something we think is wrong, you're disqualified.
A GM can't buy a Player that has more than 1 nickname inscribed to the competition (report him/her to Tour Directors).
    Team Spoilering is highly discouraged.
Disqualified Players can be substituted by the GM only if Credits are enough to operate the change. If not, Team continue to play with less Players than the others, and can lose some game by default.

If the General Manager is involved in any sort of unfair action, Tour Directors will operate severe actions against the GM involved or even the whole Team.

    COMMON SENSE RULE
This ruleset is long and translated from Italian by an unprofessional translator (but still, we did not use google translator), and reading it all is difficult; despite all kind of problems, you must follow the stated rules; any bug in the ruleset must be reported to the Tour Directors; if you gain profit from a bug of the rulings, you will be infracted and the bug will be fixed.
Tour Directors' decisions and actions can't be changed after the end of the Round.
